Saw this article today on why bicycles are the most popular vehicles in the world, and it got me thinking if bicycles are the way to go here in Singapore. After all we are a small country, its not that bad to cycle around, the government has built quite a few park connectors that join up the various jogging tracks around Singapore so actually cyclists have their own routes which they can use to access various parts of Singapore. (Of course sometimes there will be the need to cycle on the road or pavements)
Given the high prices of gasoline today, in Singapore it just went up 5cents and diesel by 10cents (according to CNA), I really wonder if more people should start cycling to work especially if you live not too far off from your workplace.
Cycling = healthy = less petrol = more $ saved
Seems like a good deal to me.
